Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Mechanical Technician Level 2 (1st Shift) in Saint George, UT to support assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of aerospace components and systems. You will collaborate with engineering on procedures, interpretations of drawings, and checkouts across high-value hardware while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

Associate’s Degree or High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school.
5+ years of aviation/aerospace/space/automotive hands-on experience with test and safety-critical hardware.
Minimum of 2 years in a mentor or leadership role.
5+ years’ technical experience in mechanical or electrical assembly, integration, and/or test.

Responsibilities

Work with engineering to create test procedures, plans, and schedules.
Read and interpret engineering models, drawings, wiring diagrams, assembly prints, specifications, and test requirements.
Operate machines, hand tools, power tools, and refrigerant equipment in an aerospace environment.
Lead diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair from component to system level.
Support payload handling and integration operations for aerospace/spacecraft.
Travel to testing sites and customer facilities as needed.
Mentor junior technicians and contribute to training.
Maintain safety and documentation per 5S and quality guidelines.
