Job summary

DuPont is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician at the Ridgeway, VA site to support a mixed manufacturing environment. You will design fixtures, program CNC centers, and optimize processes; travel to the Pencader site in Newark, DE may be required.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s degree in engineering technology with extensive CNC/CAD-CAM experience and strong communication; you will work with Operations to implement improvements and document changes.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering technology required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering tech roles.
• Proficiency in CNC programming and CAD/CAM 3D modeling.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; Excel data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support for manufacturing operations including CNC machining of Vespel parts and shapes.
• Program and optimize CNC machining centers.
• Design and fabricate tooling, fixtures, and inspection gauges for discrete part manufacturing.
• Oversee the MOC (Management of Change) process to ensure changes are reviewed and documented.
• Create work instructions to support new parts and operations.
• Support capital planning for manufacturing and facility equipment needs.
• Interface with Manufacturing Technology and Quality teams at Pencader site; communicate progress to project leaders.
