Job summary

Chugach Government Solutions, LLC is seeking an Engineering Technician V to perform non-routine, complex mechanical testing and design-related tasks in Annapolis Junction, MD. The role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, training junior staff, and delivering system improvements.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years in mechanical disciplines, certifications (CFC, PE/lic), building automation experience, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or trade school.
• Journeyman level certificate or professional engineer license in mechanical discipline.
• CFC Universal certification.
• At least 7 years of experience in mechanical fields.
• Experience with building automation software and HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of IMC codes and safety standards.
• Strong communication skills and ability to obtain security clearance.
• Valid state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Manage testing requirements including HVAC testing, building commissioning, balancing, IAQ sampling, boiler and chiller testing.
• Serve as SME for mechanical; meet deliverables, develop scopes, collaborate with customer and contractors.
• Review maintenance plans and procedures; address deficiencies and ensure compliance with standards.
• Assist in technical reviews of design drawings and submittals; evaluate systems.
• Generate RFIs to clarify mechanical procedures and improvements.
• Develop mechanical training programs and mentor technicians.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and initiate corrective actions.
• Coordinate multiple disciplines and ensure project alignment.
• Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies for program development.
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations.
• Possess ability to operate government or company vehicles if required.
• Support other department staff and work overtime as needed.
