Job summary

Skydio in California is seeking a senior mechanical/aerospace engineer to lead teams in designing and delivering the F10 platform’s structures, mechanisms, and assemblies for aircraft and ground systems.

You will own system-level design, drive architecture decisions, and collaborate across product, firmware, software, QA, and supply chain to ship robust autonomous flight systems. CATIA expertise strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Leading teams to deliver technically challenging products.
• Experience in aerospace or aviation design with a first-principles approach.
• Strong system-level design skills and ability to map dependencies to execution.
• Analytical problem solving and engineering fundamentals for high-quality designs.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of a vehicle platform from concept to production.
• Oversee mechanical development for the winged vehicle and ground systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, electrical, flight core, software, QA, and supply chain.
• Identify and drive key architecture decisions considering aero, weight, thermal, and reliability implications.
• Design mechanical parts and assemblies for aircraft and ground stations from ground-up.
• Interface with vendors in partnership with operations and supply chain.
• Define tests and use analysis to evaluate design trade-offs.
• Support manufacturing with assembly processes and inspection criteria.
