Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer for a Costa Mesa, CA contract position focused on a large autonomous underwater vehicle. You will own the vehicle master model and top-level mechanical assembly, define CAD standards, and release production drawings for fabrication and testing.

You will perform hand calculations for structural/loadpath analysis and collaborate with fabrication, test, and operations teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, safe, and operator-friendly.

Qualifikationen

• 7+ years mechanical design experience in real deployments.
• Experience designing loadrated lifting/rigging equipment.
• Proficient in 3D CAD and GD&T.
• Knowledge of structural/loadpath analysis with hand calculations.
• Experience with mechanisms and towing/launch systems.
• Experience in shipbuilding/marine environments.
• CAD tools: CATIA V5, SolidWorks, Creo.

Aufgaben

• Own and maintain the vehicle master model and top-level mechanical assembly.
• Define, implement, and uphold CAD standards and conventions for large assemblies.
• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings for lifting, handling, rigging, towing, launch and recovery equipment.
• Create production-quality drawings with GD&T and notes for fabrication and inspection.
• Manage drawing and release processes, PDM workflows, and revision control for large assemblies.
• Support engineering change and configuration management activities.
