Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer to support a major DoD construction program in the National Capital Region (Washington, DC). You will provide Owner's Agent CM services, focusing on mechanical systems oversight, testing, and commissioning.

You will review drawings, witness startup and TAB, and coordinate with government staff, design engineers, and contractors to ensure compliance with design requirements and federal standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of related experience in mechanical engineering and construction.
• PE or RA license required.
• Experience with mechanical system testing, commissioning, and acceptance.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE standards and codes.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight and acceptance support for mechanical systems.
• Review drawings, submittals, testing procedures, and commissioning docs.
• Conduct field inspections and assess readiness for testing.
• Witness startup and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with government, engineers, and contractors.
• Prepare inspection reports and readiness assessments.
• Review RFIs and contract modifications affecting mechanical systems.
• Ensure integration with electrical, fire protection, and controls.
