Job summary

Lyntris seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead architectural decisions for defense sensor and mission systems. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, oversee subcontractors, and ensure producibility and successful production transition for complex hardware.

The role requires senior leadership in mechanical engineering with DoD experience, on-site or hybrid work near Mullica Hill, NJ, and eligibility for U.S. security clearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of mechanical subsystem research, design, development, and production transition.
• Experience mentoring teams and serving as technical authority on complex defense hardware.
• Experience with subcontractor oversight and design reviews in defense programs.
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical architectures, subsystem designs, packaging concepts, and interfaces.
• Provide technical oversight of subcontractor activities, review data packs and drawings.
• Coordinate design reviews, risk mitigation, and producibility improvements.
• Support integration, testing, verification planning, and transition to production.
• Engage with customers and partners to clarify requirements and solutions.
