Job summary

The Boeing Company in Berkeley, MO is seeking Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineers to join the Instrumentation Installation Design group supporting flight test programs. You will synthesize requirements, create 3D models and drawings, and install flight test data systems across multiple platforms.

This onsite role requires collaboration with manufacturing and suppliers. Basic qualifications include a BS in Engineering and 3+ years in mechanical design with CAD tools NX/CATIA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
• 3+ years of experience in Mechanical design
• 3+ years of experience with a design tool (CAD package) like Siemens NX, CATIA, etc.

Responsibilities

• Determine where and how to locate flight test equipment on the air vehicle given upstream test requirements
• Design detailed mechanical components such as shelves, equipment trays, wiring clips, brackets, sensor mounts and specialized test mechanisms
• Incorporation of instrumentation into mechanical designs, including model-based wire routing and installation definition of how to modify the production airframe and to install sensors
• Work closely with manufacturing engineers on producibility and procurement
• Support the mod team during installation with engineering revisions and sometimes support shipside, whether that modification is along the assembly line in Saint Louis, a remote site in the US like an Air Force base, or international customers
• Support all the Saint Louis production programs (F-47, F-15, F/A-18, T-7A, MQ-25A, Weapons) and team members may work across multiple platforms concurrently
