Job summary

The Boeing Company in Berkeley, MO is seeking an Experienced or Senior Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer to define mechanical hardware for flight test data systems and to lead the installation design process across multiple platforms.

The role covers concept through release, coordinating with manufacturing, suppliers, and testing teams, with onsite expectations and potential travel to remote or international sites as needed.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical or Materials)
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design
• Experience with CAD tools (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA)

Responsibilities

• Determine where and how to locate flight test equipment on the air vehicle given upstream test requirements
• Design detailed mechanical components such as shelves, equipment trays, wiring clips, brackets, sensor mounts and specialized test mechanisms
• Incorporation of instrumentation into mechanical designs, including model-based wire routing and installation definition of how to modify the production airframe and to install sensors
• Work closely with manufacturing engineers on producibility and procurement
• Support the mod team during installation with engineering revisions and sometimes support shipside, whether that modification is along the assembly line in Saint Louis, a remote site in the US like an Air Force base, or international customers
• Support all the Saint Louis production programs (F-47, F-15, F/A-18, T-7A, MQ-25A, Weapons) and team members may work across multiple platforms concurrently
