Job summary

The Boeing Company is seeking an Experienced Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer to join the Integrated Design Engineering Team in Huntsville, AL, supporting the PAC-3 radar seeker upgrades and future concepts. You will document designs, analyze components, and contribute to production, test, and supplier activities.

Qualifications include a BS in Engineering and 5+ years in mechanical engineering, with GS&T, GD&T, and Creo Parametric experience. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical or Materials)
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience
• Knowledge of aerospace structure, materials strengths and properties, design criteria, loading conditions and processes
• Ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions from data
• Ability to digest functional requirements and apply them to the product
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment to produce high quality engineering products
• Preferred: understanding of Boeing Engineering Standards and Design Practices
• Preferred: GD&T concepts and implementation
• Preferred: thermal and vibration environmental testing
• Preferred: full-rate production support
• Active U.S. Secret Clearance? (preferred/required)

Responsibilities

• Develops and documents mechanical engineering designs and analysis, including technical data packages, test verification and validation plans, post-test reports, process specifications, and supports work instructions
• Develops cost reduction proposals, calculates ROI, develops project requirements and schedules, and implements them into production
• Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
• Supports on-going production activities and provides real-time support as non-conformances arise
• Supports engineering release processes including Configuration Control Boards
• Contributes to supplier development, test, production, and troubleshooting activities
