Job summary

Southland Holdings seeks a Mechanical Superintendent to lead field operations on large-scale projects in New Mexico. You will oversee piping, plumbing, HVAC, natural gas fitting, and fire protection, ensuring safe, high-quality, on-schedule execution in collaboration with the Project Manager.

Qualifications include 8+ years field experience, CID MM-2 and MS-12 licenses, and proficiency with Procore, MS Project, and Primavera. Travel to NM sites is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years field experience in mechanical, industrial, or large-scale commercial construction.
• CID licenses MM-2 and MS-12 are required.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and shop drawings.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage field crews and subs.
• Willingness to travel to project sites in New Mexico.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day field operations for mechanical scopes and crews.
• Develop look-ahead schedules and coordinate with other trades.
• Enforce safety culture with daily huddles and site audits.
• Ensure work meets contract docs, codes, and quality standards.
• Coordinate inspections with CID and authorities having jurisdiction.
• Manage field labor, materials, tools, and equipment to control costs.
• Review drawings, resolve RFIs and changes with PM.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower logs, and progress tracking.
• Mentor foremen, journeymen, and apprentices.
