Job summary

Kelso Southwest, part of Kelso Industries, seeks a Mechanical Superintendent to lead field operations on commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects in the Phoenix area. You will manage crews, coordinate with trades, and drive safe, on-time project execution from mobilization through completion.

The role requires 7+ years in mechanical construction with proven leadership, strong knowledge of HVAC and piping, and the ability to read drawings and schedules.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial or industrial mechanical construction with progressive field leadership.
• Experience as Superintendent, General Foreman, or senior mechanical field leader.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical piping, hydronic systems and related construction.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and schedules.
• Proven ability to lead multiple crews and coordinate with multiple trades.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field operations for mechanical construction projects.
• Plan and coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to meet schedules.
• Direct foremen and crews and set clear production and quality expectations.
• Review drawings and project requirements to plan upcoming work.
• Develop short-term field plans and look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate with general contractors, other trades, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Monitor productivity and address issues affecting schedule or labor.
• Partner with Project Managers on manpower, procurement, and scheduling.
• Ensure installations meet drawings, specs, and customer expectations.
• Identify constructability issues early and develop field solutions.
• Maintain daily reports and field documentation.
• Participate in coordination meetings and planning sessions.
• Support commissioning, punch-list, turnover, and closeout.
• Enforce safety requirements and build field accountability.
