Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Dulles, VA is seeking a Mechanical Structural Engineer - Level 5 for 100% onsite work. You will perform static and dynamic structure analysis, review materials and subsystem requirements, and develop design concepts for space applications.

The role requires a Top Secret clearance and experience with space systems. You will release technical documents, explore innovative solutions, and collaborate with senior engineers to ensure designs meet the stringent requirements of space

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 12+ years of professional experience.
Master's degree with 10 years of professional experience.
PhD with 8 years of professional experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top-Secret security clearance.
Experience with structural analysis tools: NX FEMAP/NASTRAN, ABAQUS, HYPERMESH.
Space/Satellite domain expertise.
Experience with spacecraft static/dynamic testing.
Active Top Secret clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform static and dynamic structure analysis.
Review requirements for materials, structure systems & subsystems.
Select appropriate technical information and data from applicable products.
Determine design paths and compute engineering characteristics for space applications.
Release results as technical documents after senior review.
Develop innovative solutions and elaborate design concepts.
Evaluate completed designs with supervisors and modify as needed.
