Job summary

EEI is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Specialist to lead commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation for mechanical systems in data centers and mission-critical facilities. You will guide field execution, drive issue resolution, and mentor junior staff.

Travel up to 75% is expected, with a hybrid office/field work model. Ideal candidates have 6+ years in mechanical systems, strong HVAC knowledge, and experience reading drawings and specs.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in mechanical systems, commissioning, facilities operations, or related field.
• Advanced knowledge of HVAC, chilled water, cooling infrastructure, controls, and related equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, sequences, trend data, and system information.
• Understanding of MEP systems, controls, and building operations.
• Ability to lead commissioning activities and guide field execution.
• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex commissioning, testing, and verification for mechanical systems in data centers and mission-critical facilities.
• Guide field execution, testing, startup support, and closeout across assigned scopes.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and drive practical resolution with project teams and vendors.
• Review drawings, specifications, trend data, and test results to evaluate readiness and performance.
• Communicate commissioning status, risks, findings, and recommendations clearly to clients and internal teams.
• Mentor Mechanical Specialists and Support personnel through field coaching and documentation reviews.
• Contribute to safe, reliable, and high-quality project delivery in fast-paced environments.
