Job summary

EEI is seeking a Senior Mechanical Specialist to lead commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting for mechanical systems in data centers and high-reliability facilities. You will guide field execution, review technical data, and mentor junior staff to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The role requires strong problem-solving, collaboration with clients and vendors, and a solid track record in mission-critical environments. Hybrid office/field work and significant travel are expected.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in mechanical systems, commissioning, facilities operations, engineering, construction, maintenance, or related technical field.
• Advanced working knowledge of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, cooling infrastructure, controls, and related mechanical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, sequences of operation, technical documentation, trend data, and system information.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex commissioning, testing, and verification activities for mechanical systems supporting mission-critical facilities and data centers.
• Guide field execution, functional performance testing, startup support, and closeout activities across assigned mechanical scopes.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical system issues and drive practical resolution with project teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Review drawings, specifications, trend data, test results, and system information to evaluate readiness and performance.
• Communicate commissioning status, risks, findings, and recommendations clearly with clients, contractors, and internal project teams.
• Mentor Mechanical Specialists and Mechanical Support personnel through field coaching, documentation review, and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to safe, reliable, and high-quality project delivery in fast-paced mission-critical environments.
