Job summary

Engineering-Economics, Inc. (EEI) seeks a Mechanical Specialist for our Mission Critical team to independently perform commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and verification of mechanical systems in data centers and high-reliability facilities.

You will own field activities, support performance testing, and help move systems through startup, testing, and closeout with a hands-on, field-focused professional. This role requires up to 75% travel and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical systems or related field.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, chilled water, cooling towers, pumps, air distribution, controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning, testing, and verification for mechanical systems in mission-critical facilities.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and support resolutions with project teams.
• Coordinate field activities, testing efforts, and documentation for successful delivery.
• Review drawings, sequences of operation, and system information for readiness.
• Communicate status and technical findings with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
• Mentor developing commissioning professionals through field collaboration.
