Job summary

SimpliSafe is seeking a Supplier Relationship Manager to oversee mechanical/electro-mechanical component suppliers and drive cost improvements while aligning with engineering and manufacturing teams. The role emphasizes strategic supplier management, cross-functional collaboration, and global sourcing.

The incumbent will own cost for commodities, lead supplier selection, and manage qualified suppliers to mitigate risk and improve lead times.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in managing outsourced manufacturing and Tier 2 suppliers for consumer electronics.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to influence at executive level.
• Experience in contracts and contract negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier relationships and performance for mechanical/electro-mechanical components.
• Develop long-range supply strategies and plans to drive value.
• Lead supplier selection processes (RFI/RFQ/RFP) and audits for new suppliers.
• Negotiate costs, including NRE, and ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Quality, and Manufacturing to improve the product life cycle.
• Lead executive-level business reviews and manage geo-diversification of the supply base.
