Job summary

The Mechanical – Subject Matter Expert (SME) at T5Datacenters leads mechanical operations in our Cheyenne data center, driving safety, reliability, and uptime. You will mentor technicians, develop procedures, and coordinate with the Engineering team and on-site vendor partners to keep critical systems running smoothly.

Qualifications include a BA/BS with 5–7+ years in mission-critical environments, strong communication, and the ability to read mechanical drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; equivalent experience considered.
• 5–7+ years in mission critical environments with mechanical systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication with clients and teams.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical manuals and drawings.
• Ability to work safely with hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical operations and ensure reliability of data center systems.
• Collaborate with vendor on operation, maintenance, and repair.
• Develop emergency, maintenance, and drill procedures.
• Create and maintain MOPs, SOPs, EOPs and DRILLS per client standards.
• Provide field level technical expertise to Facilities team.
• Train junior technicians and assist in developing staff.
• Report health and safety breaches and maintain safe working environment.
• Liaise with client engineers on day-to-day issues.
• Complete tasks per management direction.
