Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is seeking a Mechanical SME for data centers. You will serve as the technical authority for complex mechanical systems across hyperscale facilities, leading assessments and optimizing energy efficiency.

You will mentor engineers, manage complex projects, and collaborate with vendors, while ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards. On-site role in a large data center environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of technical building engineering experience (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and production equipment repair).
• Experience in Data Centers/Raised Floor environments.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• EPA 608 certification.
• CRAC (Liebert) maintenance/repair experience.
• Licenses as required by AHJ.
• Proficient with Word and Excel.
• 2 years of trades school or documented apprenticeship.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee data center HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Apply mechanical engineering to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Lead preventive maintenance and root-cause analysis.
• Manage incidents and after-hours support.
• Mentor and lead a team of technicians and engineers.
• Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to ensure optimal system performance.
• Ensure compliance with ASHRAE/ISO standards and safety protocols.
• Drive energy efficiency initiatives and green technologies.
