Job summary

Phillips 66 is seeking a Senior Engineer I, Mechanical, Projects to act as the owner’s engineer for fixed equipment and piping within the Refining Business Unit Projects organization. You will review mechanical deliverables, advise EPC teams, and ensure alignment with Phillips 66 standards and MOC requirements.

The role supports FEL through closeout, collaborates across disciplines, and mentors junior engineers. Travel up to 30% domestically is expected; relocation to Houston, TX is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.
• 7+ years of petrochemical, refining, or related industry experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical owner’s engineer support for fixed equipment and piping.
• Review deliverables from EPC contractors, vendors, and third-party engineering firms for quality and completeness.
• Ensure designs meet Phillips 66 standards, safety, and constructability requirements.
• Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to integrate mechanical scope into the project lifecycle.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and EPC personnel on expectations for project execution.
