Job summary

Kleinfelder’s Design Services team seeks a Project Manager, Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC and plumbing design for diverse facilities projects, collaborating with architects, owners, developers, and site engineers in the Mid-Atlantic.

This role offers a hybrid schedule with offices in Hunt Valley, MD or Mechanicsburg, PA; requires a PE license (MD or PA preferred) and 10+ years of MEP/facilities experience, with AutoCAD, Revit and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of related experience.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license required. (MD or PA preferred.)
• Ability to be the “Designer of Record” when required.
• Strong technical expertise, specifically in MEP/Facilities space.
• Knowledge with MS Office, AutoCAD, and Revit.
• Ability and motivation to obtain PE in additional states desirable.
• Experience with sustainability and LEED project certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of project execution including project organization, subconsultants management, scheduling, financial management, health and safety stewardship, and reporting to deliver a full range of mechanical and design engineering services that include complex, multi-disciplinary projects through planning, design and construction.
• Lead and participate in technical guidance and project scoping activities providing technical leadership and direction to project teams.
• Lead and participate in technical, cost, and scheduling decisions, ensuring company quality standards (including internal quality control and risk management protocols such as peer reviews), and drive customer value.
• Provide technical guidance, design and skill-based solutions to project teams, vendors and clients to drive project delivery.
• Ensures compliance with all regulations and permitting requirements.
