Job summary

KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing is seeking Senior Mechanical Project Managers and Mechanical Project Managers in Richmond, VA. The role leads complex commercial, industrial, and mission-critical mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, collaborating with field leadership and customers to deliver results.

Responsibilities include estimates review, purchasing, scheduling, change orders, RFIs, and coordination with owners, GC, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Construction, Construction Engineering Management, or related field.
• Experience managing large mechanical construction projects.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
• Proficiency with Excel and construction project management software.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Review and manage equipment, material, and subcontractor estimates.
• Handle purchasing and release of non-commodity materials and equipment.
• Oversee submittals, O&M documentation, and project closeout.
• Develop initial project schedules and monitor progress.
• Prepare, negotiate, and price change orders.
• Submit RFIs and evaluate responses for cost, schedule, and scope impacts.
• Coordinate information with the Construction Manager, Superintendent, Fabrication Division, and Start-up Supervisor.
• Collaborate with Virtual Construction and detailing teams.
• Coordinate with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, vendors, and internal departments.
• Monitor project costs, forecasting, and resource coordination.
• Identify risks and resolve issues before they affect delivery.
