Job summary

Actalent in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Manager (PE Required) for permanent onsite work on major building systems across commercial, healthcare, industrial, and public-sector projects.

You will lead scope, schedule, budget, and quality, mentor engineers, and develop client relationships while coordinating with architectural, structural, electrical, and civil teams in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• PE license is required.
• 10+ years of mechanical building systems experience.
• Proven experience managing engineering projects and client relationships.
• Strong background in HVAC and mechanical systems design.
• Experience with plumbing and fire protection systems is a plus.
• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Experience mentoring and developing engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering projects while managing scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Serve as the primary client contact and trusted advisor throughout project delivery.
• Coordinate closely with architectural, structural, electrical, and civil teams.
• Guide HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building systems design efforts.
• Review engineering calculations, layouts, and construction documents for quality and accuracy.
• Support project planning, staffing, resource allocation, and financial performance.
• Mentor engineers and help elevate team performance.
• Contribute to proposals, client presentations, and business development initiatives.
• Drive innovative, efficient, and practical engineering solutions for clients.
