Job summary

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to oversee the planning and delivery of HVAC and sheet metal operations on commercial construction projects. You will coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure on-time, on-budget execution.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3+ years of PM experience on mechanical/HVAC projects, with strong communication and knowledge of codes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of project management experience on commercial mechanical/HVAC projects
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC and mechanical systems, codes, air distribution, fabrication and installation practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision and attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and construction PM software/systems

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with internal project teams, customers, subcontractors, and vendors
• Coordinate with pre-construction, sales, safety, estimating, CAD/BIM, fabrication shops and client personnel to develop mechanical project schedules
• Review and approve mechanical equipment submittals (AHUs, RTUs, chillers, boilers, pumps, VAV boxes, VRF systems, exhaust systems)
• Scope vendor quotes and procure mechanical materials (ductwork, sheet metal components, hydronic piping, valves, insulation, HVAC equipment)
• Issue subcontracts for mechanical, HVAC, and sheet metal trades
• Provide guidance to fabrication teams on duct fabrication schedules and components
• Monitor field progress, manage budgets, and report performance to leadership
• Prepare cash flow analysis, schedule of values, and other financial analyses
• Identify scope changes and price change orders
• Assist on-site safety and quality control
• Oversee RFIs, RFPs, submittals and documentation
• Manage change-order processes and budget revisions
• Oversee project administrative logs and close-out activities
• Support site safety plan and safety-first culture
• Travel as needed and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Perform other duties as assigned
