Job summary

Godfrey & Wing is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to lead the design and delivery of custom equipment from concept through commissioning. You will perform CAD design, provide technical leadership, coordinate with internal teams, and directly engage customers to tailor systems to their needs.

The role emphasizes cross-disciplinary system design, drive systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, controls integration, and mentoring junior engineers, with travel up to 20% as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 6-10+ years of experience in custom equipment design and manufacturing.
• Willingness to travel 10-20%, including international travel.
• Proficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle execution of complex custom equipment projects.
• Own mechanical system design including multi-discipline integration.
• Serve as primary technical point of contact for customers.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and technical risk.
• Drive cross-functional coordination across engineering, fabrication, controls, and service.
• Lead equipment testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning efforts.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards, documentation, and best practices.
• Contribute to product/platform standardization and continuous improvement.
