Job summary

MCC Group in La Porte, TX is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to lead large capital projects from concept through startup. You will direct multidisciplinary teams, ensure safety, reliability and performance, and drive continuous improvement across mechanical systems.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, 20+ years of industrial experience, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master's preferred.
• PE license and/or PMP certification are a plus.
• 20+ years of mechanical engineering experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget adherence.
• Oversee multidisciplinary capital projects spanning mechanical, civil, electrical, instrumentation, and process disciplines.
• Direct design, procurement, construction, installation and startup activities.
• Manage MOC projects to improve plant reliability and performance.
• Specify equipment, size pumps and rotating equipment, and assess vendor proposals.
• Collaborate with contractors, operations, maintenance and engineering teams to deliver projects on time.
