Job summary

Soarnol in La Porte, TX seeks a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to lead complex capital projects from concept to startup in a world-class facility. The role requires directing mechanical design and project execution with emphasis on safety, reliability, and performance.

You will manage budgets, schedules, and vendor interactions while coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver on time and within scope. A PE license or PMP is a plus, and a strong leadership mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 20+ years of mechanical engineering experience in manufacturing, petrochemical, chemical, refining, or industrial processing.
• Extensive experience managing capital projects from engineering through construction and startup.
• Strong background in mechanical equipment design, pumps and rotating equipment, and industrial systems.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinating contractors.
• Demonstrated success managing project budgets, schedules, procurement, and construction activities.
• PE license and/or PMP certification are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget targets.
• Manage multidisciplinary capital projects across mechanical, civil, electrical, instrumentation, and process domains.
• Oversee engineering design, procurement, construction, installation, and startup activities.
