Job summary

Envista Forensics seeks a Senior Project Engineer to apply scientific methods to determine causes of complex material and product failures. You will isolate factors that led to failures, potentially supporting civil or criminal proceedings.

You will lead field investigations, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, and prepare clear reports for clients. The role may include deposition or expert testimony and travel to catastrophe sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years’ experience evaluating mechanical failures.
• Strong analytical, synthesis and reporting capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Outstanding time management and organizational skills.
• Effective written and oral communication abilities.
• Team-oriented with collaborative problem solving.
• Willingness to travel to catastrophe sites as needed.
• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM platforms.

Responsibilities

• Investigates the cause of failures, damages, or defects in mechanical systems.
• Participates in catastrophe responses (hurricanes, floods, etc.).
• Performs field investigations and documents damaged property.
• Develops recommendations for repair or remediation.
• Prepares clear reports outlining causes and origins for clients.
• Provides deposition or expert testimony in court cases when required.
• Manages multi-disciplinary teams and ensures clear communication.
• Keeps up to date with policies, training, and regulatory standards.
