Antora Energy in San Jose, CA, seeks a Mechanical/Process Engineer to optimize balance-of-plant systems for cost and performance, and to develop cost models using data from a range of sources. You will design BOP equipment for commercial energy storage projects and help scale a novel solid-state thermal battery.

You will work closely with multiple engineering teams in a fast-growing startup as a key technical contributor, guiding testing, deployment, and deployment strategies while applying

Competenze

• Bachelors or equivalent in an engineering field and 8+ years’ experience in industrial applications engineering.
• Experience designing or specifying industrial mechanical equipment (Pressure Vessels, Pumps, Heat Exchangers, Air Coolers, Fans, Tanks, Piping, Valves).
• Working knowledge of industrial mechanical design codes: ASME I/VIII Div. 1, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, API 650, API 610, TEMA, ASTM.
• Working knowledge of electrical power distribution systems.
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving from first principles.
• Ability to work independently and in fast-paced startup environments.
• Proven ability to lead across mechanical, electrical, thermal, fluids, controls disciplines.

Mansioni

• Create and own models for equipment, system and plant costs; continuously update models from projects.
• Conduct trade-off studies balancing performance, cost and schedule to guide architectural alignment.
• Collaborate with SW/controls, battery engineering and project execution to develop low-cost, high-performance BOP systems.
• Define and own system process requirements and specifications (HMB, PFD, P&ID).
• Review cross-functional designs to ensure they meet process requirements.
• Participate in PHAs, HAZOP, and HAZID workshops.
