Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a hands-on Preconstruction Manager - Mechanical to bridge engineering design and construction for major industrial projects. You will provide constructability input, develop bid packages, and coordinate with internal teams and contractors for HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection work on site.

Expect up to 50% travel across the U.S., with a preference for near Jacobs offices. Requires 8+ years in mechanical engineering or 15+ years in industrial construction, plus a bachelor’s

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience, including certified technical training.
• Experience interpreting mechanical drawings and specs for construction.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to resolve design and constructability issues in engineering drawings and specs.
• Identify schedule and cost savings opportunities from existing design or modularization.
• Identify trade partners for early contractor engagement in design phase.
• Coordinate cross-discipline evaluation of mechanical scope for construction sequencing.
• Identify risks for long lead activities and align with design and schedule.
