Job summary

Heartline Staffing is recruiting a Mechanical and Machining Engineer for an onsite engineering opportunity in Knoxville, Tennessee. This role focuses on developing in-house machining capability, precision ceramic machining, mechanical design, production and prototype tooling, fixturing, finish machining and manufacturing-process improvement.

The engineer will contribute to components serving critical functions in nuclear reactor applications, including technology already in commercial operation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
• 5+ years of mechanical design and machine-shop experience are required.
• Ceramic machining experience including advanced processes is required.
• Strong knowledge of standard machine-shop processes and setups.
• Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and MasterCAM or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Develop in-house machining capability and deliver high-quality precision parts.
• Apply ceramic machining processes including wire EDM, diamond grinding and CNC milling.
• Support machine setup, machining and troubleshooting activities.
• Develop and improve manufacturing and machining methodologies.
• Support production and prototype finish machining.
