Job summary

EMCOR Group seeks an experienced Mechanical and Plumbing Estimator for commercial projects. You will prepare and coordinate estimates, perform takeoffs, compare vendor proposals and ensure pricing accuracy from bid to submission.

Role reports to Estimating Manager and requires strong communication, software proficiency and code awareness. Bachelor’s degree preferred and 5+ years of estimating experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; GED or high school diploma required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical construction estimating.
• Knowledge of estimating software; strong administrative and communication skills.
• Ability to read, interpret and present routine business information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Actively gather information for estimates by engaging stakeholders and vendors.
• Interpret field conditions to determine costs without plans or specs.
• Interpret drawings and requirements to formulate pricing strategies.
• Collaborate with estimating, engineering and sales to develop winning strategies.
• Understand and apply applicable code requirements.
• Assess equipment, materials and labor cost/availability.
• Utilize estimating docs to prepare bill of materials and labor estimates.
• Complete all documentation on time per company policies.
