Job summary

EMCOR Group seeks an experienced Estimator to perform professional mechanical engineering analysis for preconstruction, design-build, and bidding across healthcare, institutional, and higher-education facilities. You will develop concepts, equipment selections, piping layouts, and cost estimates to support proposals.

The role requires 3–8 years of estimating experience and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, with strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, and bidding processes.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of mechanical construction estimating experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Expertise in Plumbing, Mechanical Piping, and HVAC systems for healthcare, institutional, commercial or higher education.

Responsibilities

• Perform HVAC load calculations for proposed and existing facilities.
• Size equipment and select HVAC, plumbing, and related mechanical-system equipment.
• Size pipes and evaluate piping configurations and system requirements.
• Develop conceptual HVAC/plumbing drawings and layouts for planning and budgeting.
• Review drawings and bid documents to identify technical requirements.
• Contribute to design-build/design-assist projects with mechanical concepts.
• Evaluate alternative designs and cost implications.
• Prepare mechanical quantity takeoffs, scopes, pricing, and cost estimates.
