Job summary

Southern California Edison (SCE) is seeking a Mechanical Senior Plant Engineer to support hydroelectric facilities in Big Creek, CA. You’ll lead diagnostics, data analyses, and engineering investigations to improve plant performance, reliability, and asset health, partnering with cross-functional teams. On-site 4/10 schedule with up to 40% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or scientific/technical/math field.
• Seven or more years of experience in engineering within operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
• Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Oversees engineers performing diagnostics, monitoring and inspecting equipment, and reviewing grid technologies, building relationships to facilitate cross-functional knowledge transfer of related work groups.
• Leads the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Collaborates and leads with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless development, integration and implementation of future technologies and asset performance management strategies.
• Assists in a variety of engineering and business initiatives and grid strategies, including development of innovative procedures and design recommendations.
• Provides support for new equipment installation and startup, then leads the hand over processes to the ramp and sustaining phases.
