Job summary

Southern California Edison (SCE) is seeking a Senior Supervisor Hydroelectric Operations and Maintenance to lead daily maintenance and operations of the hydro fleet, ensuring reliable performance and regulatory compliance.

You will manage outages, guide a skilled team, and drive continuous improvement while coordinating with reliability engineering and other groups to optimize asset utilization and energy delivery in California.

Qualifications

  • Four or more years of combined experience in a power generation operations environment.
  • Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures adherence to safety protocols and compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Plans, schedules, and executes routine, preventative, and overhaul maintenance activities; manages outage work and return to service.
  • Promotes effective use of asset management tools and systems and provides training to optimize utilisation and data capture.
  • Partners with reliability engineering, market operations, and other groups to analyse performance data and drive asset optimisation.
  • Leads reliability centred maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives to address performance gaps and optimise asset utilisation.
  • Acts as incident commander and leads emergency response as needed and participates on incident management teams.
  • Monitors asset health parameters, production metrics, and market conditions; adjusts operations to meet production and financial targets.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

In this role, you will be responsible for the operations/maintenance of SCE's Hydroelectric fleet. This includes overseeing the daily activities of the maintenance team, with a matrixed responsibility to operations. Ensuring the efficient and reliable performance of our energy assets, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and safety standards. You will lead a team of skilled professionals, providing guidance and support to optimize operational processes and achieve performance targets.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Four or more years of combined experience performing or supervising in a power generation operations environment.

  • Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience: Demonstrated, up-to-date experience working directly in a power plant environment, with active involvement in daily operations or maintenance activities over the past 2-3 years.

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate a large, diverse team effectively.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of plant systems, operational processes, and safety regulations.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and ensure understanding and engagement.

  • Problem Solving: Demonstrated analytical thinking and troubleshooting capabilities to resolve technical and operational issues efficiently.

  • Microsoft Office Proficiency: Advanced skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including the use of pivot tables, macros, and data visualization tools.

  • Multitasking & Stress Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and perform effectively under pressure in fast‑paced environments.


Additional Information


  • This position’s work mode is on‑site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

  • Qualified applications with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act.

  • The primary work location for this position is Big Creek - Auberry, CA 93602.

  • Position will require up to 40% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.

  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un‑escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.

  • This position has a 4/10 work schedule Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 5:30 pm.

  • Relocation may apply to this position.
