Job summary

SpaceX in Bastrop, TX is seeking a Sr. Supplier Development Engineer, Mechanical Metrology (Starlink) to lead end-to-end supplier strategies for high‑precision mechanical components and metrology processes in a high‑volume production environment.

You will drive GD&T, PC‑DMIS, AI-enabled metrology, PPAP/FAI, GR&R, and supplier improvements while collaborating with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to achieve exceptional quality, cost, and delivery targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, metrology, industrial engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in mechanical metrology, precision manufacturing, or supplier development.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end supplier development for mechanical metrology and high‑precision components within the Starlink User Terminal BOM.
• Engage with suppliers on selection, equipment, and process engineering to set up high‑volume manufacturing programs.
• Lead AI-powered metrology solutions and drive PPAP/FAI, GR&R, and production ramps to enable full‑rate manufacturing.
