Job summary

SpaceX in Bastrop, TX seeks a Global Supply Manager, Mechanical to lead sourcing for Starlink mechanicals. You will build and manage the supply base, drive cost reductions, and partner with internal stakeholders on capital purchases and production consumables.

You will mentor teams, report weekly to management, and develop strategies to optimize supplier performance, delivery, and total cost of ownership in a fast-moving, high-stakes environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience in purchasing, material or production planning, operations or supply chain management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the supply base to support sourcing for the solar and battery space.
• Provide weekly team status reporting and elevate to management when necessary.
• Train and mentor teams to continuously improve.
• Work with key suppliers to develop sourcing and cost management strategies.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support capital purchases and production consumables.
• Understand technical production equipment to identify cost, space, and process optimization opportunities using data analytics.
• Utilize negotiations to maximize value and cost savings while maintaining delivery schedules.
• Build and own project budgets and capitalization plans focusing on total cost of ownership.
• Conduct market analysis and benchmarking for assigned categories.
• Communicate equipment status to management including schedules, risks, and mitigation actions.
• Create sourcing strategies to reduce risk and enable continuous cost reduction.
• Build relationships and drive cross-functional teams to consensus.
• Present value propositions to executives related to contracts and cost reduction.
