Job summary

The Boldt Company is seeking a Senior Mechanical MEP Manager for data center construction to lead cross‑functional MEP efforts across the full project lifecycle. This role oversees mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and controls, driving design alignment, cost awareness, and constructability during design and preconstruction.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in MEP construction on large-scale data centers, strong leadership and scheduling skills, and prior data center/GC

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience managing MEP construction on large-scale data center projects.
  • 10+ years reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • 10+ years of experience with HVAC, chilled water, fire protection, electrical distribution, and plumbing in mission-critical environments.
  • 7+ years of experience with scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Experience supporting mission-critical data center MEP projects.
  • Knowledge of commissioning, performance validation, and operational testing of MEP systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter, comfortable on fast-paced on-site construction projects.
  • Data Center and General Contractor experience.
  • Experience in CSA and MEP construction management is a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and controls across the full project lifecycle.
  • Influence design, define scope, and align cost, schedule, and constructability during design and preconstruction.
  • Foster safety, accountability, and high performance across project teams and trade partners.

Job Title: Senior Mechanical MEP Manager - Mission Critical/Data Center Construction
Location: United States - 75 - 100% Travel Required

Additional Compensation: For project assignments requiring travel, Boldt provides per diem along with enhanced compensation to recognize time spent away from home.

We're looking for a Senior Mechanical MEP Manager who thrives in high-stakes, fast-paced environments and has a proven track record leading hyperscale, mission-critical data center construction projects. The Senior Mechanical MEP Manager for Data Centers serves as the leader of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and controls systems across the full project lifecycle. This role is responsible for leading cross-functional teams to influence design, define scope, and align cost, schedule, and constructability during the design and preconstruction phases within a collaborative environment.

You’ll foster a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance- driving alignment across project teams, craft labor, and trade partners. Just as important, you'll build strong, trust-based relationships with clients and partners, bringing teams together to solve problems and deliver results. The anticipated salary range for this position is $167,000 - $216,000 annually. This information reflects the anticipated base salary for this position based on current market data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual’s skills, experiences, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related fieldrequired(or combo of education/experience)
  • 10+ years of experience managing MEP construction on large-scale commercial, industrial, or data center projects.
  • 10+ years reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • 10+ years of experience with HVAC, chilled water, fire protection, electrical distribution, and plumbing systems in mission-critical environments.
  • 7+ years of experience with construction scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project)
  • Experience supporting mission-critical data center MEP projects.
  • Knowledge of commissioning, performance validation, and operational testing of MEP systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter, comfortable on fast-paced, on‑site construction projects.
  • Data Center and General Contractor experience required.
  • Experience in CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) construction management is a requirement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Project & other PM technical tools.
