Job summary

American Sugar Refining, Inc. in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to direct and coordinate maintenance operations with a focus on safety, quality, reliability, and on-time delivery.

You will lead by example, set expectations, and drive corrective actions to improve refinery equipment availability. The role requires five or more years of related experience and three years of supervisory experience, with knowledge of mechanical systems and familiarity with NDT and vibration

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical systems with respect to rotating and fixed equipment; electrical knowledge a plus.
• Must be familiar with NDT methods and able to interpret vibration and oil analysis reports.
• Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office are required.
• Scheduling, planning, and SAP or similar inventory and PM program is a plus but not required.
• Some CMMS platform experience (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards or similar) is required.

Responsibilities

• Directs the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by eliminating hazards, training employees, and promoting safety awareness throughout the facility.
• Takes corrective action to reduce safety risks, maintenance problems and/or waste to maximize equipment availability.
• Review, approve, and schedule maintenance work orders; provide resources and inspect work in progress and after completion for accuracy and timeliness.
• Coordinate daily maintenance work to ensure maximum equipment uptime using available resources.
• Directs maintenance personnel to achieve continuous operation and maximize repair efficiency.
• Monitor maintenance tasks to ensure compliance with quality and GMP requirements.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance program; manage scheduling and records for equipment and property.
• Interface with outside vendors for equipment and parts purchases; submit proposals for new equipment or parts.
• Review costs and reduce unnecessary spending on supplies and parts.
• Supervise special maintenance projects and prepare technical and non-technical documents and procedures.
