Job summary

Lancesoft is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Instructor in Fairfield, AL to deliver classroom and hands-on technical lessons for employees in a Maintenance Learner Program. The instructor teaches mechanical maintenance fundamentals, equipment-specific skills, troubleshooting, and reliability concepts while aligning with facility standards and business needs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical credential in industrial maintenance or related field.
• 5+ years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Experience providing technical instruction and on-the-job training.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, maintenance methods, and troubleshooting.
• Clear explanation of concepts with effective hands-on instruction.
• Ability to read manuals, drawings, schematics and equipment specs.
• Proficiency with common business software and learning management systems.
• Strong organizational, communication, documentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate across teams.
• Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance and CMMS concepts.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safety-first culture and model compliance with facility safety rules.
• Prepare lesson plans, presentations, exercises, assessments, and criteria.
• Incorporate manufacturer guidance and facility procedures into content.
• Provide classroom instruction, demonstrations, and supervised hands-on training.
• Teach topics including safety, measurement, power transmission, bearings, lubrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, and valves.
• Evaluate learner knowledge and document results; recommend development when needed.
• Monitor progress toward program completion and qualification as maintenance staff.
• Partner with maintenance leaders to identify skill gaps and priorities.
• Remain current on mechanical tech, adult learning methods, and facility processes.
