Job summary

Anduril Industries in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer for Rocket Motor Systems. You will lead a team to design and analyze solid rocket motor components, applying stress and thermal analysis with industry tools to ensure robust performance.

You will develop the mechanical solution architecture with the Chief Engineer, plan tasks, and manage schedules, ensuring design reviews and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience in mechanical design and analysis.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related field.
• Experience with CAD and/or FEA software.
• Ability to travel 10-25% and obtain/hold a Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to perform CAD design activities and finite element analysis of structural and thermal systems.
• Develop and implement mechanical solution architecture with the Chief Engineer.
• Plan tasks and deliverables to meet milestones and ensure schedule and quality.
• Ensure design reviews, identify risks, and create mitigation plans.
• Generate and release engineering drawings and product definitions.
• Create reports and presentations documenting analyses and supporting work.
• Present designs to peers and customers in design reviews.
• Support prototyping, manufacturing, and test operations onsite and with suppliers.
• Own development of critical subsystems from cradle to grave.
