Job summary

Spencer Ogden seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design coordination and technical oversight for hyperscale data center projects. You will guide HVAC systems, cooling, and infrastructure, ensuring designs meet client specs and reliability goals.

Responsibilities include reviewing designs, supporting commissioning, field inspections, and coordinating with construction teams to ensure installation follows intent and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• 5+ years supporting mission-critical, data center, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, utility, or similarly complex infra projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC and cooling in critical environments.
• Experience on large-scale projects over $100M in installed value.
• Ability to read drawings, specs and equipment docs.
• Proficient with CM and engineering software platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for all mechanical systems on the data center project.
• Review designs, calculations, drawings, and submittals for accuracy.
• Serve as primary resource for HVAC, cooling and mechanical infrastructure.
• Identify conflicts and collaborate on practical solutions.
• Support value engineering while maintaining reliability and redundancy.
• Oversee field inspections, QA reviews, and contractor performance.
• Review RFIs, change orders, and field directives related to mechanical scope.
• Support commissioning from Level 1 through Level 5 testing and startup.
