Job summary

Venture Global LNG seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, engineering, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment for an LNG facility. Based in Plaquemines, this role reports to the Director of Engineering and guides a disciplined team through project phases from feasibility through construction.

You will develop mechanical work plans, ensure compliance with codes and HSSE, manage budgets and schedules, and coordinate with other disciplines to deliver safe, reliable facilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience on capital projects from feasibility through construction.
• Minimum of 3 years in a Mechanical Lead role supervising engineers.
• Familiarity with project phases and deliverables.
• Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, OneNote) preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English required.
• Ability to train and travel to live facilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical discipline on medium projects or as assigned on larger projects.
• Ensure adherence to project specifications, codes, standards and good engineering practice.
• Ensure HSSE requirements and regulatory compliance are met across all work.
• Develop mechanical hour estimates, man-loading and schedule concurrence.
• Monitor schedules and budgets; report progress to the Lead Mechanical Engineer.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure information flow and design alignment.
• Contribute to all project phases including detail design and construction support.
• Develop equipment calculations, specifications and data sheets for inquiry and purchase.
