Job summary

SIRIS LLC seeks a Senior Mechanical Inspector to support a Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum expansion. The role focuses on CPM schedule oversight, coordination with COTR and contractors, and ensuring compliance across mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

Ideal candidates bring 8–10 years of federal project inspection experience, strong RFI/change order skills, and proficiency with Blue Beam and Procore.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years’ experience with GC or Subcontractor performing mechanical inspections.
• Involved with coordinating and managing the installation on at least one large Federal project (over $40 million) is preferred.
• Experience with installing or inspecting mechanical and electrical systems; familiarity with IBC, NFPA, NEC and mechanical codes.
• Ability to assist with answering RFI and reviewing change order scope documents.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a group environment.
• Computer literate; Blue Beam and Procore experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review and manage CPM schedules for the multi-discipline construction project.
• Inform the COTR on construction progress and identify potential schedule delays.
• Coordinate inspections for mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems including high/low voltage.
• Coordinate access to existing building systems and schedule shutdowns with relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure contract specifications and plans are implemented in compliance with codes and standards.
• Review statements of work for accuracy and completeness; provide contract admin support (RFI, submittals, etc.).
• Provide SI customer service via phone, email and in person.
