GPI seeks a Project Manager - Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer for our Metro DC branch in Rockville, MD, or the Fairfax, VA office. In this role, you will have the opportunity to grow and direct a project team.

GPI is a multi-disciplinary engineering firm delivering planning, design, and construction services for transportation infrastructure and building system projects across the United States for over 50 years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
• Solid understanding of building design and codes.
• Strong leadership skills to meet deadlines and manage contract work with minimal direction.
• Ability to travel to project sites within the region.

Responsibilities

• Lead project work on concurrent projects, including budgets, tracking hours and expenses, task completion, cost and quantities of labor, technical calculations, permit applications, schematics, construction, and regulatory/technical memos.
• Manage the technical development, scheduling, and resolving engineering design issues.
• Be hands-on with projects from inception to completion in managing mechanical design and construction of building and infrastructure projects, including rehabilitation and reconstruction, new builds, design specifications, and phasing.
• Utilize engineering techniques and processes to identify improvements for various building projects, including concept development, preliminary design, final design, and/or construction.
• Direct interaction with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients professionally.
