Job summary

GPI seeks a Professional Engineer to lead our Mechanical HVAC Engineering team in our Metro NY office located in Suffern, NY. This leadership role oversees all engineering staff and manages project design across HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Systems, primarily within the Tri-State region.

As a collaborative leader, you will drive innovation, mentor staff, and advance professional growth while delivering high‑quality design across a broad range of building systems projects for over 50 years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 15+ years of engineering and project management experience, primarily in MEP.
• New York Professional Engineer license and knowledge of NYS Building Codes and NFPA standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to department staff for high-quality deliverables.
• Establish best practices to improve consistency, quality, and performance.
• Conduct performance evaluations and support staff development.
• Perform site visits, field observations, and technical studies with detailed reports.
• Assist with proposal development, scope definition, and project strategy.
• Prepare RFPs and assist with design and permitting requirements.
• Engage with local, regional, and national industry groups for professional growth.
• Contribute to business growth through client engagement, proposals, and project delivery.
