Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join our consultancy team supporting the delivery of a major semiconductor manufacturing facility. You will independently prepare mechanical cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and manage commercial aspects of complex installations, with responsibility for tenders and change management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying/estimating in construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management.
• RICS accreditation or progressing toward it is valuable.
• Experience supporting cost management on medium to large projects; consultancy favored.
• Experience evaluating tenders and presenting commercial recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present mechanical cost estimates, quantities, and commercial management for complex installations.
• Evaluate contractor/subcontractor tenders and provide recommendations to clients.
• Review and negotiate variations, change orders, and compensation events.
• Conduct cost comparisons and verify quantities and rates to industry standards.
• Support change management in fast-track design and construction environments.
• Utilize Bid Analysis Sheets and cost-estimating software in daily workflows.
