Job summary

NPAworldwide is seeking a senior Estimator in Newport News, VA to lead the estimating process for HVAC, Plumbing, and Mechanical Piping from conceptual design to final proposal. The role includes reviewing drawings and documents for pricing strategies, performing design calculations, and selecting equipment and materials.

You will evaluate labor productivity, contingencies, and cost-saving opportunities, solicit vendor quotes, and develop labor budgets for awarded projects.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, and Mechanical Piping systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
• Solid understanding of plumbing and mechanical codes.
• Experience using estimating software such as AutoBid, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and similar tools.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Strategic thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical discipline, or 10+ years field experience in HVAC, Plumbing, or Mechanical Piping, or 5+ years estimating experience in mechanical construction industry.
