Job summary

Loenbro is seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator in Gilbert, Arizona to lead cost estimation for multi-discipline construction and industrial services across mining and heavy industry. You will develop detailed takeoffs, price labor, and coordinate with subcontractors to produce winning proposals.

The role requires strong reading of complex drawings, proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid and MS Project, and the ability to travel to mine sites and client facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience in industrial or mining construction.
• Ability to read civil, structural, mechanical, piping drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid or a comparable platform and with Microsoft Project; strong Excel skills.
• Working knowledge of MSHA regulations and mining site safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for structural steel fabrication and erection, piping, mechanical equipment setting, civil earthwork and concrete, and electrical scopes.
• Analyze RFPs, RFIs, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to identify cost-driving elements and risks.
• Develop labor hour estimates using historical rates and databases; solicit and level subcontractor quotes.
• Coordinate bid packages, schedules, and exclusions; support development of project execution and staffing plans.
• Attend site walks, pre-bid meetings, and client interviews to gather scope clarity and build relationships.
