Job summary

MSS Solutions, LLC is seeking a Senior Estimator to join the Charlotte, NC team. This role centers on creating detailed cost estimates for HVAC systems and coordinating with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure accurate bids and profitable outcomes.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of HVAC experience, strong blueprint reading, and proficient Microsoft Office skills. We value collaboration, integrity, and a proactive approach to preconstruction.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5–10 years’ experience in the HVAC industry.
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints and construction plans and specifications.
• Ability to understand HVAC systems and controls and perform calculations.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong work ethic.
• Proficient with all Microsoft Office related products.

Responsibilities

• Assume key role throughout estimating, bidding, vendor and subcontractor proposal review and purchasing processes.
• Work with Director of Preconstruction and leadership to determine bid/no bid.
• Assign lead estimator for each project based on skillset and schedule.
• Delegate tasks and supervise/mentor other estimators.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs of HVAC equipment and systems.
• Develop budgets from narratives through design to construction documents.
• Develop bid packages and evaluate subcontractor bids.
• Provide technical support to leadership and project managers.
• Coordinate selection and pricing of equipment, controls, and services.
• Lead and mentor the estimating team and resolve issues.
• Participate in preconstruction planning and project fulfillment.
